📲 What is a PWA?

SmartCart Family is a Progressive Web App (PWA). This means:

✅ No need to download from any store - Installs directly from your browser
✅ Works offline - Once installed, no internet connection is needed
✅ Takes up very little space - Much less than a traditional app
✅ Always updated - Updates automatically without you doing anything
✅ Total privacy - No tracking, no unnecessary permissions

Step by step:

1 Open SmartCart in your browser

Go to: https://smartcartfamily.com/app

2 Look for the install message

A message will appear at the bottom of the screen:

"Add SmartCart Family to Home Screen"

Or you will see an "Install" or "Add to Home" icon in the address bar.

3 If it doesn't appear automatically

Tap the browser menu (⋮ three vertical dots) and select:

Chrome: "Add to Home Screen" or "Install app"
Edge: "Add to phone" or "Install"
Samsung Internet: "Add page to" → "Home screen"

4 Confirm installation

A confirmation dialog will open. Tap "Add" or "Install".

5 Ready! It's installed

You will see the SmartCart icon on your home screen. Open it like any other app.

✅ Installation complete!
Now you can use SmartCart as a native app, even without an internet connection.

💡 Tip: If you want to uninstall it later, press and hold the icon and select "Uninstall" like any other app.

🍎 Installation on iPhone / iPad

Requirements: iOS 16.4 or higher with Safari

Step by step:

1 Open Safari

Important: You must use Safari, it doesn't work with Chrome or other browsers on iOS.

2 Go to SmartCart

Type in the address bar: https://smartcartfamily.com/app

3 Tap the share button

At the bottom of Safari, tap the Share icon (a square with an arrow pointing up).

4 Find "Add to Home Screen"

Scroll through the options and select "Add to Home Screen" (icon with a +).

If you don't see it, scroll down in the menu options.

5 Customize the name (optional)

You can change the name if you want, or leave it as "SmartCart Family".

6 Tap "Add"

Confirm by tapping the "Add" button in the top right corner.

7 Ready! It's installed

You will see the SmartCart icon on your home screen. Open it like any other app.

✅ Installation complete!
SmartCart now works as a native app on your iPhone or iPad.

⚠️ Important note for iOS:
If you update iOS in the future, you might need to add the app to your home screen again. This is normal behavior for PWAs on iOS.

💡 Tip: To uninstall it, press and hold the icon and select "Delete App", like any other iOS app.

🔧 Troubleshooting?

The install option doesn't appear

Android: Make sure you use updated Chrome, Edge, or Samsung Internet
iOS: You must use Safari (not Chrome) and have iOS 16.4 or higher
Check that you are at smartcartfamily.com/app
Reload the page (F5 or swipe down)

The app doesn't work offline

Open the app at least once with internet to fully download it
Close and reopen the app
Check that you have enough space on your device

I want to uninstall the app

Android: Press and hold icon → "Uninstall" or "Remove"
iOS: Press and hold icon → "Delete App"
